Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Recruitment Specialist, reporting to the Sr. Director, People & Culture, is responsible for the complete recruitment cycle for all positions. The ideal candidate would work closely with management to ensure that the right talent is sourced as per the organization’s needs. In addition, the successful candidate will assist the People & Culture team on a variety of special projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the planning, co-ordination and execution of full cycle recruitment and selection processes for all positions
  • Work closely and effectively with other departments and management to define and agree on recruitment requirements
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for recruiting and attracting top talent
  • Create and post job descriptions on various online sites
  • Review applicant resumes, conduct phone interviews, shortlist candidates and present most aligned candidates to hiring managers
  • Initiate background and reference checks
  • Assist with the successful onboarding of new hires
  • Manage RioCan’s recruitment guide ensuring objectivity and best in class recruitment practices
  • Participate in the development, coordination, and implementation of changes and/or improvements in procedures for the department
  • Work with the People & Culture team members on a variety of special projects
  • Other duties / projects as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post secondary certification or related discipline in Human Resources
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of high volume recruitment experience
  • Applicant must have strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail, process improvement skills and project management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint as well as experience using an applicant tracking system
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and problem solving abilities
