Position overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this position is responsible for providing support to Corporate Finance by processing corporate level monthly and quarterly adjustments as well as reconciliations of specific corporate balance sheet and income statement accounts.


  • Responsible for various fixed assets and IT costs review, set up, accruals and amortization.
  • Various corporate billings to other legal entities and/or joint venture partners.
  • Account analysis and reconciliation of ledger details to general ledger.
  • Analyze, prepare and post monthly / quarterly accruals in accordance with IFRS.
  • Respond to transactional accounting questions and issues. Resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Liaise with other departments in regards to accounting matters.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual internal / external reporting.
  • Support preparation and coordination of internal / external audits.
  • Other duties / projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirement:

  • Completion of a university degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent and/or near completion.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience preferably in the real estate industry.
  • Experience with monthly and annual GST/HST filing an asset.
  • Knowledge of current accounting practices and principles (IFRS & GAAP).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to cope with changing client needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
  • Experience with JD Edwards is an asset.
